Hello Panel! We are coming in May 2010 (Woooot!) and right now it is a toss up between Coronado Springs or The Animal Kingdom Lodge. Staying at the AKL is only $270 more. (How I LOVE discounts!) I was wondering if the upgrade is worth it?

    Hi Robert!

YES! The upgrade to Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely worth it! Our family has stayed at both of these resorts and we absolutely love the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

One big plus for the Animal Kingdom Lodge the fact that the resort is one building, without the need to travel between buildings to get to the lobby, store, or restaurants! AND, the restaurants at the lodge are terrific as well. From the breakfast & dinner buffets at Boma to the signature dining experience at Jiko, you'll enjoy each of these. For a quick taste of each of these restaurants, a culinary tour is usually offered free of charge each afternoon.

Kids will love the zero-entry pool and water slide area. This pool is one of our kid's favorites! And there are wonderful, free activities such as night-vision goggles to catch a glimpse of the animals in the dark and African storytelling by the outdoor fire pit.

Of course, I have to mention the animals too! Even if you are in a standard view room, there are plenty of viewing areas to see the wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, flamingos and antelope! These views really can't be beat! You'll feel like you are on safari!

I hope this helps you to decide! Have a great trip!
