Can you pack/travel with a Playstation or Xbox in your luggage? My family will be continuing our vacation directly after our cruise and we want this for our next destination and not on the cruise.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question; we are glad you are here. It sounds like you have lots of vacation planning in the works, so let's get to it!

While not specifically mentioned in the list of items prohibited onboard, I confirmed with Disney Cruise Line that gaming units such as Playstation®, Xbox and Nintendo cannot be brought onboard. Virtual Reality (VR) headsets or similar video game consoles are also prohibited. Portable gaming units that do not require television connections, such as hand-held games, are permitted.

Like airport security, your luggage (checked and carry-on baggage) will be screened prior to being brought on board. Depending on the item, the port terminal security team may confiscate items and either discard or hold them in a secure storage area until you return from your cruise. I suggest declaring any items you are concerned about to the port terminal security team so you will know the fate of your item. Keep in mind there is no guarantee of how items will be handled. Either way, if your bag requires a second security search, your luggage will be delayed in delivery to your stateroom, so plan to pack everything you need for your embarkation day in your carry-on baggage

While working on your packing list, take a look at this helpful list of things to bring on your cruise. For my carry-on bag, I usually pack sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle, medications, valuables, and travel documents. Remember, you will carry this bag with you until your stateroom is available, which could be several hours after you board. After boarding the ship, I usually enjoy a sit-down lunch in one of the rotational dining venues while checking the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for all the activities offered during the cruise. After lunch and planning for the activities I don't want to miss, I head out to explore the ship before the sail-away deck party. It is a relaxing way to start a vacation!

Andrew, I hope this information is helpful as you pack your bags. Let us know if you have other questions!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
