Hi Kelly! Welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. I’d be happy to share some helpful details to make your stay at
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel as smooth and stress-free as possible.
I reached out to the hotel directly and spoke with a very kind Cast Member, Lisa, who confirmed that Guests are welcome to have
packages delivered to the hotel prior to their stay. Even better: there’s no fee for this service, as it’s complimentary for hotel Guests. Packages can be delivered as far as three weeks in advance of your arrival. That said, Lisa recommended shipping your items at least a few business days before your stay begins, since packages need time to be received, logged, and processed before they’re ready for pickup. When you arrive, you’ll simply stop by the bell desk to collect your delivery.
There are a couple of key details to keep in mind when addressing your package. Be sure that the name on the package exactly matches the primary name on your hotel reservation, and include the word “Guest” in front of your name. This helps the hotel staff quickly confirm that the package belongs to a Guest and route it to the correct department. Following these steps will make the process as seamless as possible.
Since you’ll be staying at the Grand Californian, I also want to highlight one of the biggest perks:
Early Entry! Each day of your visit, hotel Guests can enjoy access to one of the theme parks 30 minutes before the official opening time. Be sure to check the
daily schedule on the
Disneyland app or
website to see which park will be offering this benefit during your stay. And don’t forget: the Grand Californian has its own private entrance into Disney California Adventure, located just steps from Napa Rose. Many Guests like to grab a quick coffee or breakfast bite at GCH Craftsman Grill before heading through the private gate to maximize those early-morning minutes.
I hope this helps you feel confident about shipping your package ahead of your trip, Kelly. If more questions pop up as you plan, please visit us again. We’d love to help!
Wishing you a magical stay at the Grand Californian and plenty of pixie-dusted moments in the parks,
David
