So overwhlemed ... deciding which Resort to stay at. A 1st disney vacation for any of us - family of 4 (daughter's 5&8). Hoping to stay at a deluxe but they are JUST above our budget? We like "beachy" feel... what is the BEST moderate?

The "best" resort is very subjective. Each of the WDW resorts has their own active fan base. In the moderate category, I am very partial to the themeing at Port Orleans French Quarter (and I reeallly like the fresh-made bengiets in the food court there). But I am not a huge beach person. If you are a beach-lover, then the place that would make the most sense for you is the Caribbean Beach resort. Each area of this hotel is designed to simulate a different Caribbean island. The main pool and many of the rooms have been recently renovated, so the resort is in great shape. The only negative that I occasionally hear is that this resort is on the large side with some of the rooms a fair distance from the main building. One way to deal with this would be to request a room with proximity to the food court, pool, or main bus stop. Panelist Bret gives great advice on how to get this accomplished HERE.

The moderate resort that I would tell you to steer away from is Coronado Springs. This hotel plays host to many conventions and meeting. While there are plenty of families that stay here, you do notice the sizable adult contingent of meeting-goers. For me, the busy-ness of these business folks take away a bit from the vacation atmosphere.

I hope you have a great trip to WDW!
