Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Pamela! Packing for a Walt Disney World trip can be very overwhelming, and now that most airlines charge for checked bags, there are some tips and strategies I've picked up over the yEARS. There are dozens of blog posts dedicated to this subject written by fellow Disney fans who have packing down to a science.
When my Mouseketeers were toddlers, I always hesitated about packing diapers because let's face it- a week's worth of diapers can take up a lot of valuable space. If you're like me and want to wait to buy the diapers until you get to Walt Disney World resort, there are a few options. All the Resort Hotel gift shops carry a selection of diapers in their pantry section. Also, the
Baby Care Centers, which are located in all four theme parks (and are hosted by Huggies), have diapers for sale, including Pull-Ups.
However, if you prefer a specific brand or style, I'd recommend using a grocery delivery service. My family uses Garden Grocer for things like water, sports drinks, yogurt (and maybe even a bottle of wine or two for mom and dad), and I always arrange for the items to be held by Bell Services on the day of our arrival at our resort. My Moms Panel friend,
Brandy, likes to use a service called Instacart, which allows her to shop from a nearby Publix and have it delivered to her resort. Another option is to use Amazon.com’s Grocery Department. Items are often discounted, and shipping is free if you are an Amazon Prime member, although a small package handling fee will be charged by Disney.
Good luck planning and packing for your trip, Pamela, and don't forget to save room in your suitcase for souvenirs- I have my eye set on those Cinderella Castle Minnie Ears!
