Hi Rebecca, and welcome to planDisney. I’m excited that you’ll be right in the middle of the magic in just a few weeks!
I frequently handwash clothes in my hotel room, whether it’s to clean off the remnants of a melting
DOLE Whip or to save room in my luggage for souvenirs! So I totally understand wanting to find somewhere to air dry your clothes.
According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, you’re not allowed to hang any clothing, towels, bedding or other similar items over or on balconies at a Disney Resort hotel or from fire suppression sprinklers. And there aren't any public clotheslines outside of the resorts.
But Hakuna Matata! I’m happy to share how I air dry clothes in my
Disney Resort hotel room. The easiest way is to use the retractable clothesline that most rooms have over the bathtub. I usually wait until everyone has showered and then hang clothes overnight to dry. These clotheslines are very sturdy and I’ve even hung a wetsuit from the one in my bathroom at the
Riviera!
If you have laundry that’s not dripping wet, you can also hang clothes on the provided hangers in the closet. Just leave the door open for air circulation!
I also have a tip for getting swimsuits to dry faster. Before hanging them up to dry, I wrap them in a towel and twist to squeeze the water out. After that, they dry pretty quickly!
And one more option is to use the
Disney Resort hotel laundry services. All resorts have self-service washers and dryers, as well as dry cleaning and valet laundry service.
I hope this helps you figure out how you’ll dry your laundry while you’re at the Most Magical Place on Earth! You’ll also be visiting during one of the most beautiful times of the year, during the
Flower & Garden Festival. Don’t miss dropping into
EPCOT for this special event. I love grabbing a
frozen desert violet lemonade from the
Outdoor Kitchens and strolling around to look for all the
Disney character topiaries. I’m always in awe of what the horticultural Cast Members create each year!
