I have an outfit I based off of Belle’s father with a twist of steampunk. It has off the shoulder sleeves but it can be worn with them on shoulders. It also has a hat w/ removable goggles that I keep on it. Is that appropriate? SW one broke and is midrepai

    Bonjour Georgia,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us. We are happy to hear about your upcoming plans to visit Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you are taking Belle seriously when she proclaims that there must be more than this provincial life! I love that you are ready to do a little creative Disney Bounding and are seeking clarity on the Guest Courtesy and Attire Policy. So, let’s see what adventure in the great wide somewhere, or at least Disneyland Resort, we can dream up!

Georgia, since your arrival date does not coincide with the frightfully popular Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, you will need to follow the standard park dress code. Now, what you are describing sounds like it will adhere to the policy, but you should review the policy for yourself to confirm. Be mindful that during normal operating hours, Guests ages 14 and over are not permitted to wear costumes. Also, clothing with multiple layers is subject to search upon entry, so if your steampunk twist involves adding some extra layers to Maurice’s attire, plan accordingly. And from what you are describing, your hat and goggles should also be acceptable, as long as they do not cover your face or eyes or pose any sort of risk to other Guests. Of course, the helpful Disneyland Resort Cast Members will have the final determination, so please plan to have another option if you have any doubts after reading through the guidelines.

Now, if you were lucky enough to conjure up a ticket for Oogie Boogie Bash, Guests ages 14 and older are permitted to dress in costume with a few guidelines so please familiarize yourself with those, too. Even if you aren’t attending this year, I think you will want to add it to your list of Disney must-dos! The Villians Grove at Oogie Boogie Bash sounds like a glimpse into the Black Forest where Maurice and Philippe caught quite a scare.

Georgia, I hope your Star Wars-inspired attire is repaired soon and that you find yourself bounding through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before the end of the millennium. In the meantime, stop back by if you have other questions; we are here to help!

May you find that the castle is alive in all the best ways,
    Shannon
