Hello Jesica!
Welcome to planDisney! I never had a chance to enjoy a trip for as long as you are planning but I know I would love the option to be flexible over my vacation. I know, for me, having a rest day at least once is very important when enjoying many days in the Parks. Make sure to find a beach or pool to relax in and get your body ready for more days of adventure!
When purchasing an
8-day ticket with Walt Disney World Resort you will find it spans 12 days which means that if you choose your first day in the parks to be January 24, 2024, then you have until February 4, 2024, to use those tickets before they expire. If you purchase a Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports Option an extra day is added and you have until February 5, 2024, to use the tickets. So, an 8-day ticket gives you a 12-day usage period before it expires but adding that Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports Option increases the usage period to 13 days. That could help if you want more time to use the tickets! I see that you are in Orlando on January 24, 2024, and I don't know if that is the first day you wish to visit the Parks or the day you are arriving in the area. I suggest you purchase the tickets so that the first day of your ticket is truly the first day you enter the Parks. That way it can extend further into your trip and you can use it the way you like before it expires.
Now, stay with me as I do some math magic. I tried to weigh the price options to help figure out what would be an alternate option for you and found that breaking the tickets into two 4-day tickets raises the overall cost quite a bit. Walt Disney World Resort rewards you with deep discounts per day when you purchase longer ticket periods. Prices are subject to change but I'm calculating approximately a $400-$500 price increase by breaking the tickets into fewer day options. I considered this as an option during my calculation so that you can spread the two 4-day tickets and their 7-day usage periods over your 17-day trip. Alternatively, by just increasing your 8-day ticket to a 10-day ticket you pay approximately $40 more but extend your usage period until February 6, 2024, or by two more days! Add on the Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports Option and that extends it another day! Now, you may not want to go to the Parks for 10 days but maybe the slight increase in cost may make it worth the purchase to get an extended usage period. Just to add to the math, if you wanted to add those Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports Option, anticipate adding another $75- $120 to your final price.
I see that there is a
special offer available to you as a magical guest from Argentina where you can buy a
4-Day, 4-Park Ticket for a visit between January 11, 2024, and March 15, 2024, for $459 plus tax. (Again, prices are subject to change) Once you select your initial Park start date it appears you have 8 days to use the tickets. If you purchase this ticket and combine it with a regular 4-day ticket you would then spend about $350 more than just buying a straight 8-day ticket.
So much to consider Jesica, and it depends on your budget and the true dates you would like to visit the Parks. My suggestion is to find a way to make the 8-day ticket work within your trip dates and make sure the start date is accurate. My second suggestion is to just increase to a 10-day ticket option and have a bit more days to work with while also making sure your start date is accurate.
I hope this helps and you have a wonderful time!
Happy Planning!
