Hey Amanda,
I absolutely agree with you that you're too close not to do Disney while in Orlando. Even if I'm taking a business trip here, I always manage to insert my Disney fix into the journey. My favorite non-park activity is hotel hopping. The best hotels to do that are all on the monorail line. I'm calling it the
Gingerbread Tour. At both Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Contemporary Resort, the gingerbread displays are a treat for the senses. Start at the Grand Floridian, with its grand lobby and life size gingerbread house and then whoosh over to the Contemporary Resort to the Frozen themed landscape of cookies.
While you may not be near Grandmother's house, you can take a
sleigh ride over the river and through the woods at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Simply take a short boat ride from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness. There may not be any snow but the adventure will still be grand and you'll be laughing all the way in a one horse open sleigh.
Wishing you and your family a very merry holiday!
Be Magical,
Leanne T.
