Ordering our magic bands shortly, coming to FL in june, buying tickets @ disney. How do we put money on our magic bands for food & drinks...& what happens if we don't use all the money?

    Hi Holly!
You've got a great question and it is one that I get asked often when friends hear that I'm serving wonderful Guests like you here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Here's the story on Magic Bands and charging privileges: if you stay in a resort hotel, you must have a credit card on file for any incidental charges onto your room. You are welcome to use cash or gift cards to pay the balance for any charges you make during your stay and I've done this many times. I would suggest doing this a day or two before you check out.

If you are not a resort guest, you may not use your Magic Band for payments (you cannot link a credit card to a Magic Band without a resort stay). However, Disney Gift Cards are a great and easy way to pay for meals and incidentals while on vacation. Also, the Walt Disney World Resort is now accepting Apple Pay as an alternate method of payment.

Holly, I hope this answers your question. Have a great vacation and come back and see us if you have any additional questions!!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
