Ordering our magic bands, 2/3 (all adults) of us are in one household. Can we not order our magic bands separately to the other guest on the hotel reservation with us? The other guest has selected theirs, but is unable to see our selection & vice versa

    Hello Harrison!

Welcome to planDisney! My family loves using MagicBands, and we order a new set for almost every trip. We have so many of them, that we now string them together to make a garland for my mom’s Disney-themed Christmas tree! I think ordering them in advance and looking forward to their arrival makes the planning more fun and builds excitement as the trip approaches!

Guests of Disney Resort Collection Hotels can pre-order MagicBands at a discount. I think this is what you are looking at. The way the system is set up, everyone on a single reservation must order their MagicBands at the same time, in one transaction, and the MagicBands will be sent to the address linked to the primary Guest on the reservation. So, unfortunately, your additional party member cannot place a separate order. You’ll have to have them let you know which MagicBand they’d like, and how they want their name written on the back, and then you’ll need to order it along with yours. It looks like you arrive very soon, so it may be too late for MagicBands to be customized and shipped to your home, but they can sometimes be delivered directly to your resort to pick up on arrival.

If you decided not to place a pre-order, know that you can purchase full-priced MagicBands from most resort gift shops. Or you can skip MagicBands altogether and use either a Key to the World Card that can be requested at the front desk of the resort, or you can go digital with Disney MagicMobile. With MagicMobile you can link your park tickets to your Apple or Android mobile device such as a smartphone or smartwatch. My husband prefers this method and uses his smartwatch to enter the parks.

I hope this helps to answer your question, Harrison. And I hope you have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
