    Hi! We have ordered the Disney Dining plan. We are interested in reserving the Mickey's Backyard BBQ which shows that our dining plan is accepted - however, it is asking me to pre-pay for the event. Is that normal?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so happy you have stopped by to ask a question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World.  I hope your trip is filled with unforgettable memories.   

    Adding one of the Disney Dining Plans to your reservation is a great idea.   I have found I have always saved money over the cost of paying out of pocket. The Disney Dining Plan also allows for you to reserve Character Dining and Dinner Shows such as Mickey's Backyard BBQ.   I know you will highly enjoy it.   Mickey's Backyard BBQ does require prepayment via credit card.  However, if you have a current Magic Your Way Vacation Package with a Disney Dining Plan , and have logged on to My Disney Experience online, you should be able to reservation without a pre-payment.  Please note that every Disney Dining reservation does require a credit card hold, they will not charge your card unless you do not show up to the meal.   If you have prepaid already you can let the Cast Member know when they check you in that you will be using Disney Dining Plan credits and they will refund your payment to your card.  Remember to book category 2 or 3 seating for use with the Disney Dining Plan.
