In order to maximize our time, I'm trying to get a pretty good schedule for each day. We'll be staying at the Art of Animation Resort. How much time should I allow in our schedule to travel from the resort to WDW, Animal kingdom, and Downtown Disney?

    Hi Sara,

I love the new Art of Animation resort. I think the food court there is the best at Walt Disney World.

I'm going to assume that you're using Disney's free transportation system rather than driving. To get from AoA to any of the destinations you mention, you'll be traveling by bus. The bus ride from AoA to the Magic Kingdom will be about 20-25 minutes. From AoA to Animal Kingdom is about 15-20 minutes. And from AoA to Downtown Disney is about 10-15 minutes. However, you should build in some extra time into your schedule. The buses run approximately every 20 minutes. So it possible that if you want to take the bus from AoA to Animal Kingdom, you could be looking at a 40 minute travel situation (20 mins of waiting + 20 mins of riding).

I'm going to point you to the Transportation Wizard, which is a resource on the independent website OurLaughingPlace.com. You can enter any two locations at Walt Disney World and the Transportation Wizard will tell you which mode of transport to take and how long the travel time will be. It's very helpful when planning how to get around the World.
