Hi, Kellie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
For me, one of the best things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the food! As a vegan living in South Carolina, my options for eating out are pretty limited when I'm at home. But I eat like a queen at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Theme Parks, Water Parks and Disney Springs! While I don't have the gluten restriction, I am familiar with several options that are both vegan and gluten free.
Our favorite way to start the day is the Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Just let your server know about your dietary restrictions and they'll take care of the rest. (Vegan AND gluten free Mickey waffles included!) For lunch, one of our favorite spots is the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park. My husband and I love the Curried Vegetable Crew Stew and our daughter loves Congo Connie's Coconut Curry Concoction. You'll need to forgo the pita bread to keep it gluten free, but the meal is delicious even without it. For dinner, we love California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Ask to see the "Vegan/ Vegetarian Unplugged Dinner Menu" and then let your server know you'd like to speak with a chef about making any modifications. Treats like a Dole Whip or nondairy ice cream at Hollywood Scoops at Disney's Hollywood Studios are great dessert options as well.
Make sure you download the
My Disney Experience mobile app, too. The app now includes "Allergy-Friendly" menu designations for items at many Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. Always make sure you ask to speak with a coordinator at a Quick Service restaurant or a chef at a Table Service restaurant if you have any questions or concerns about menu selections. They'll work with you to find the best option for you and your party.
Bon appetit!
Amy
