Hi, Ellen! We're glad that you stopped by planDisney with your questions! First of all, thank you for being a Magic Key holder. Walt famously said, "To all who come to this happy place: Welcome." He would be honored that you are one of Disneyland's most devoted fans.
I'm sure you were excited when the news broke last week about
Magic Key renewals! Monthly payment plans will continue to be available for renewing guests who live in California, but when you renew online through the Disneyland website, there are no options to make a down payment. If you live locally, extra payments can be made at the Disneyland Main Entrance Ticket Booths, but they will not change the monthly payment contract. Instead, it will change the number of payments made based on how much you put down. If you want to discuss your options in more detail, feel free to call the
Magic Key holder Hotline at (714) 781-7277.
When I called earlier today, the Cast Member informed me that you can only renew 30 days before your pass, and Disney is pretty firm about that timeline. Understandably, I know you are anxious about being able to renew your son's pass when it comes due in 2023. In the unfortunate circumstance that renewals are paused at that time, then your only option will be to buy him a
Standard Theme Park Ticket. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that renewals will continue through the spring of next year!
In the meantime, Ellen, I hope you are able to enjoy using your passes during the
holiday season. Christmas is just around the corner, and I love all the seasonal snacks in the parks! Check the Disneyland website for exclusive
Magic Key discounts on food and merchandise.
