Welcome to planDisney, Christi!
Oh boy! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins tomorrow!!! Will you be too excited to sleep tonight?
Christi, whether or not your family will benefit from using a stroller during your vacation is really a personal choice. I would suggest thinking about how often you currently use a stroller as a guideline. I have 4 children, and when my two eldest were 5 and 7 I did not give them the option of using a stroller, since they had younger siblings that required it. By the time my youngest was 5, we had graduated from using strollers altogether. I'll admit; it was a strange feeling the first time we traveled to Walt Disney World without a stroller since we had been using strollers in the parks for so long! But it was also very freeing. We weren't encumbered by lugging a stroller on the resort buses and we didn't have to backtrack to retrieve our stroller after enjoying an attraction. I did need to rethink what we brought with us into the parks since I no longer had a stroller to store my items. We end up with a
locker rental if we bring more than can fit in a small backpack, such as when we bring extra clothes in case the weather changes.
My family usually takes a break midday for a nap and a swim at our
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, which gives little legs a chance to rest. When in the parks, if we see someone needs to take a break from walking we'll choose attractions or shows such as the
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover,
Mickey's PhilharMagic, or
Festival of the Lion King, or simply grab a snack and rest on a park bench for a bit. If you find you need a stroller from time to time, such as on a particularly long day or if planning to stay late in the parks,
single and double strollers are
available to rent.
Christi, I am wishing you and your family a wonderful visit! Please feel free to visit us at planDisney again if you have any additional questions. We're always happy to help.
