Hi, Chris! It's nice to see a resident of the Buckeye State writing in to planDisney! As a fellow Mid-Atlantic resident, I understand all too well why you want to plan a vacation to see Mickey in sunny California!
My family considers Walt Disney World Resort our home resort, and because of the distance between the four theme parks, we rarely add the Park Hopper option to our theme park tickets. However, when we visit our West Coast counterpart at Disneyland Resort, buying Park Hopper tickets is a no-brainer. Getting from park to park is as easy as a hop, skip, and a jump! I don't blame you for wanting to upgrade.
Unfortunately,
ticket upgrades have always only been able to be done in person at the Disneyland ticket booths. Since you want to have this done before your trip, I know that sometimes Cast Members can make a case-by-case exception over the phone, where they refund and then repurchase your tickets. Just know that you will lose your current
theme park reservations, so be ready to rebook them immediately. Try calling
Ticket Services at (714) 781-4636; they are open seven days a week from 7 am until 9 pm Pacific Time. You can also use the Chat with Us Feature if you have the
Disneyland Mobile app.
One of my family's favorite Disneyland Resort experiences is
World of Color at
Disney California Adventure Park. It's such a unique show that you can't get anywhere else. I recommend reserving a
Dessert Party through the Disneyland website if you're able to. It is a splurge, but it will give you access to premium seats and some sweet treats!
I hope you have a great time at the Happiest Place on Earth this summer, Chris! Take care.
