Hi. I did online check in for Art of Animation and I found the part with room request drop down menu, but it is only showing me two options….a king bed option and close to the bus stop. Has something changed? Can we no longer request ground floor?

    Hiya, Courtney! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy, I'm so excited to see that your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is only a couple of months away! Before you know it, you'll be standing in front of Cinderella Castle, riding a banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage, fighting along the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and saving the universe on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! But perhaps the best part will be heading "home" to Disney's Art of Animation Resort to relax at the end of an exciting day. Courtney, I'd love to help you with your room requests!

I completely understand making room requests to meet the needs of the Guests in your travel party! When it comes to making room requests, you have a few options. First, you can use the drop-down feature under Room Requests when completing online check-in. However, I've noticed that sometimes the request I'm hoping to make doesn't appear as an option. In that case, my best tip is to reach out to a Cast Member! They'll take a peek at your reservation and add a note to your reservation with your request. Please know that requests can't be guaranteed, but Cast Members will do everything they can to accommodate you and your travel party. Pro tip: making a more generic request, such as asking for a ground floor room, is always more helpful than something much more specific, like a designated room number!

Courtney, my favorite way to make this request is through the Chat feature in the My Disney Experience app. Open the app and tap the icon that looks like three stacked lines ≡ in the bottom right corner, then scroll down a bit and tap the "Chat With Us" tile. Leave a message including your reservation number and room request, and a Cast Member will get back to you as soon as they're able to!

Since we're speaking of the My Disney Experience app, I'd recommend taking a little time to explore it before you arrive. A little like holding a magic wand in your hand, you can use this app to check wait times for attractions, view park maps, access virtual queues, and even mobile order food! This is a great way to minimize waits and maximize the magic.

If you have any other questions, please write to us again, Courtney! After all – you've got a friend in me.

    See ya real soon!
