Hi Rawand! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
Lightning Lane is a fantastic option that allows Guests to spend less time waiting in queues and more time enjoying the magic of the parks. Currently, Disneyland Resort offers two options:
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and
Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Prices and terms are subject to change, and availability is limited. Availability may be especially limited with the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. We select Lightning Lane as a family on our trips to the parks because none of us want to spend our day in queues, especially our little boys. I'm happy to explain the differences between these two offerings to you.
First, every ticketed Guest must have the option added to their ticket to enjoy the benefits. Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass aren't one-time purchases for the whole group. You and your boys will all need the option added to your tickets to take advantage of Lightning Lane Entrances. Keep that in mind when deciding which option is right for your group.
Both Lightning Lane options utilize Lightning Lane Entrances. For that reason, one isn't faster than the other. Typically, we find that the time spent is roughly the time it takes us to physically wander through the queue, but there isn't a lot of standing around waiting. I hope that's good news!
While both options utilize Lightning Lane Entrances, Guests with Lightning Lane Multi Pass use the
Disneyland mobile app to select a return time window. They can redeem this and experience the Attraction during their return window. Guests with Lightning Lane Premier Pass can spontaneously use a Lightning Lane Entrance without booking a return time. With both options, however, you can only use the Lightning Lane Entrance once for each Attraction.
Please be aware that not all Attractions offer a Lightning Lane Entrance. There is some crossover between Attractions that currently offer Lightning Lanes and Attractions with
height requirements. If an Attraction has a height requirement, your baby won't be able to ride. Your boys might also be a little short for some Attractions. You can use the complimentary
Rider Switch service for Attractions where some members of your group can't yet ride. But there is so much to do, including many Attractions the whole family can enjoy!
Finally, Lightning Lane Premier Pass currently includes the Lightning Lane Entrances for Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park. Lightning Lane Multi Pass does not. However, Guests can purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass for these two Attractions subject to availability. Also, both of these Attractions have height requirements, which means your whole group won't be able to ride. They're two of my favorites, but it was only recently that my youngest could experience both.
Both options offer great value in the form of complimentary downloads of Disney's PhotoPass Service photos. I love the photos from our trips. They capture priceless memories. Locate these spots on the Disneyland mobile app by switching from "Attractions" to "PhotoPass" on the map.
I hope this helps.
