“
I have one dining credit left to reserve and am trying to decide between Cape May or 1900 Park Fare.Which one has the best lunch/dinner food?”
Both restaurants have excellent food, and I really like both of them. The two experiences are very different though, as 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian is a character meal.
At 1900 you will have dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine (stepmother), Anastasia, and Drizella (stepsisters). They are so much fun! The prince and princess are their usual polite and royal selves, but the stepsisters are not on their best behavior. They are loud, boisterous, and quite witty, making catty comments whenever Cinderella is out of earshot. This is a very fun and funny experience, particularly if you're willing to play along.
As for the food, it's great as well. When I was there in October 2007 there was an international flair to the meal, with different countries' food represented in sections along the buffet. If you eat there, be sure to sample the strawberry soup - it's a house specialty!
The Cape May Clambake at the Beach Club is fabulous! If you love seafood as I do, you'll be in heaven. The mussels and clams are particularly good, as is the Clam Chowder. You can also find peel and eat shrimp and fish here. If someone in your group doesn't care for seafood, they will eat well also. BBQ ribs, Prime rib, pasta, and several other dishes are usually present, as is a children's buffet with favorites like mac-n-cheese, chicken strips, fish sticks and hot dogs, among other selections. There are no characters at dinner here, but the incredible food more than makes up for their absence. I really love this restaurant and recommend it highly, I look forward to enjoying it myself when we return in August!
