Once upon a time there was an Alamo car rental on property at Disney World. Is it still there and if so how might I access it to make a reservation? Thank you

    Hi Catherine,

Welcome to planDisney, from one Colorado Disney fan to another! I'm so happy you've swung by with your question, and I'd love to help provide some car rental guidance. How exciting that you are planning a winter getaway vacation to Disney World! That's such a terrific time to visit, and you'll be there during the fun EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Yay, you!

My family often forgoes a rental car during our Disney World vacations, as we love staying in that magical "Disney bubble" and using the complementary resort transportation during our stay. But we have on occasion needed to rent a car, and yes there is still a location to do so right inside the Walt Disney World Resort property. The Car Care Center is located on site and offers both car repair services and car rentals. Currently Alamo, Enterprise, and National offer rentals from this location. You will make your reservation directly with Alamo, and just enter "Orlando Walt Disney World Car Care" as your pick up (or return) location.

The Car Care Center offers a complementary shuttle service between Disney World Resort hotels and the rental facility. You will call to arrange a pick up time. When we've utilized this option it was pretty slick. The kids and I spent an hour or so hanging out at our resort's pool while my husband took the shuttle to go get our rental car. I would plan on this process taking around 1-2 hours, and then you'll be on your way! If you are a mountain loving girl like me, who also loves to see the ocean when in Florida... then maybe you'll be heading to a beach. See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls you!

Catherine, I hope this helps and that you have an absolutely wonderful time at Disney World! Pixie dust to you my friend, and please feel free to send me a message at planDisney if you have any additional questions I can assist with.

    Adventure is out there!
