Hi Tabitha,
Welcome to planDisney! There’s nothing quite like the excitement of planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. From choosing your ideal
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, to deciding how many days of theme park fun you’ll enjoy, exploring the benefits of the dining plans, and finally taking that leap to book your visit, it’s all part of the fun that makes the countdown to your vacation so special.
Regarding travel insurance, it’s not too late to add it after you’ve made your initial down payment. If you booked a Walt Disney World vacation package directly through Disney,
you can add travel protection up until your final payment is made, which is due 30 days before arrival. Either head to the "
My Plans" portion of your MyDisneyExperience account and click "Change Reservation" to add it, or call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line, and a Cast Member will assist you with this process.
Since you’re planning a visit during the fall, you may want to look into
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park. This separately ticketed evening event features festive parades, exclusive character sightings, themed fireworks, and trick-or-treating throughout the park. Costumes are encouraged, and the atmosphere is festive without being too spooky, making it a favorite for all ages. If you’re considering attending, I recommend purchasing tickets early, as select dates often sell out, especially the closer you get to Halloween!
While you're planning, here are a few more tips that might make your stay even better. Consider purchasing a Resort Refillable Mug. These are included with Disney dining plans or available for separate purchase, and they give you access to unlimited soda, coffee, and tea at any resort quick-service location for the length of your stay. If you’re a fan of snacks in the parks, the refillable popcorn bucket is another great value. You buy it once, then enjoy discounted refills throughout your trip, and there is nothing better than freshly popped Disney popcorn!
If you have more questions as your vacation gets closer, feel free to reach out.
I’d be happy to help you fine-tune your plans.
See you real soon,
Brent
