Hi ! Which parks would be the best to visit each day (one park per day from Oct 30 to Nov 2nd 2024) during the Half Marathon Week-end ? We wanna avoid delay in transportation and runners crowd. Should we expect some problems to get to MCO on Nov 3rd ?

Salut Etienne, I'm happy to wish you a warm Canadian welcome here at planDisney!

We often find ourselves in and around Walt Disney World Resort during the runDisney race weekends that take place throughout the year, and just as the participants have perfected the art of snagging their spots online to take part in each event - we've also figured out ways to avoid some of the hustle and bustle that sometimes results in delays and disruptions when you're trying to get around. While we've got so many excellent runDisney experts on the panel, you might want to hear a fellow non-participant's perspective that I'm happy to provide along with my recommendations to help you strategize for that week:

    • October 30 is when I would recommend heading to Magic Kingdom Park in order to see it with Halloween decorations up, especially if you're not attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party the following evening.
    • October 31 is not only Halloween, but would also be a great day for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which is more likely to be busier over the weekend. (Last year we found it to be immensely popular with runDisney folks looking to celebrate their achievements on the Saturday and Sunday!) Many local families may stay home for trick-or-treating and you may notice the runDisney crowd heading to bed earlier in anticipation for early buses to the starting line over the next few days - in our experience, Halloween evening at the other theme parks last year was eerily easygoing.
    • November 2 is when I'd suggest Disney's Animal Kingdom for the lowest chances of being impacted by the Disney Wine & Dine 10K or the weekend local crowds, especially when it comes to a Saturday at EPCOT during a major festival!
    • November 3 is when the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon may have the most impact on roadways if you're heading to the airport early in the morning, while a Post-Race Party is scheduled to take place at EPCOT at 10:00 P.M. so I recommend planning to arrive sooner or taking advantage of services like MCO Reserve to cut down your wait time. (The last time that we flew out of Terminal C, it didn't seem to be as affected as the others.)
These are just from my observations of guest behavior from last year's events and the wait times at the rides and attractions over the course of the weekend; come back again soon for any other tips or tricks but hopefully you won't encounter anything too tricky to handle while you're here!

Hope your experience that weekend is more fun than frightful!
