Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Robert! Thanks for bringing us your question about security screenings at
Walt Disney World Resort theme parks!
When arriving for a day of fun at any of the theme parks, every guest with a bag is required to go through a security screening. This applies to all four theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort, even if you’ve already gone through screening at another park earlier in the day. But yay for park hopping! It’s a small problem to have when enjoying all your favorite things at the different parks. It's also meant to keep us all safe.
Security Cast Members will look over each bag to make sure guests are not bringing in any prohibited items. To have a better understanding of what those prohibited items are or just to be in the know of the general rules for the parks, take a look at the
Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules. This will help keep wait times at the screening points to a minimum.
Guests staying at or visiting Disney Resort hotels on the monorail loop, will also be screened by Security Cast Members before boarding the monorail.
Robert, a good way to avoid having to wait for your bag to be searched, is to leave the bag in your Disney Resort hotel room. I have family members who “travel light” and don’t take any bags with them. They are able to enter each park with little to no wait through the security screening.
I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue planning. Feel free to come back to see us with any other questions you might have. Helping you plan your magical stay is one of our favorite things to do!
