Hiya, Melissa,
I’m so glad you brought your question to us here at planDisney, because like Wreck-It Ralph, we like to think it is nice to be the good guy when it comes to answering fellow Guests’ questions.
When you check in to a
Walt Disney World Resorts Collection Hotel, an
authorization hold will be placed on your credit card for any balance due on the reservation, plus $100 (the amount is subject to change) for incidental expenses. During your stay, if you charge purchases such as merchandise, food and beverages or other items that exceed the original hold, additional incremental holds will automatically be placed on your credit card. The hold on your card will not exceed your current balance due plus $100 (the amount is subject to change). On the fifth day of your stay, or after checkout if your stay is less than 5 days, the current balance on your Resort folio will be charged to your credit card on file. You will only be charged for what you actually spend. After you check out, the hold will be released the next day.
By checking in to a Walt Disney World Resort hotel
you authorize Walt Disney World Resort to charge your credit card for expenses such as smoking recovery fees, and any property damage or loss due to your negligence or willful conduct. So, while there is not a specific “damage deposit” placed on your card, your card will be charged if there is damage to your room due to your negligence or willful conduct.
One of the
magical benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is that you can charge purchases to your credit card on file using your
MagicBand or using
Disney MagicMoblie Service. I love how this makes purchases all around the resort as quick as Venellope von Schweetz racing in a game of Sugar Rush!
Melissa, I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or need some tips for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation,
stop back by and let me know. Like Fix-It Felix, planDisney is here to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
