You have asked a great question regarding use of an older MagicBand on an upcoming trip to
Walt Disney World. The short answer? If your MagicBand is still in working condition: yes!
Cathlyn, we have MagicBands that date back many years, and, thankfully, all of them have worked on recent trips to Walt Disney World. With dozens of MagicBands in the family, only one had to be retired--but that was due to a tear in the band that we thought might make it too easy to fall off. Of course, there is battery life to consider, so be mindful of that possibility when packing your classic bands.
I bring our older MagicBands to WDW so that we can coordinate colors, seasons, holidays, etc. However, we've also been smitten with the newer
MagicBand+, so each of us brings at least one of those with us as well. These bands can be recharged and paired with your mobile device; plus, they open up so many interactive, fun features throughout your WDW stay. Check out this link on
