how old do you have to be to ride on rides alone?

    Heigh-Ho Cynthia,

Wow, what a great question and such an important time, your first unchaperoned Walt Disney World ride. I wish I could remember mine but truthfully my mom was pretty adventurous and still is so I am sure I was an adult before I could make that magical memory.

Planning a family vacation at Walt Disney World becomes a Friday Night Family Event for us. We order a pizza, explore one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and each writes down our Top 3 Must-Do’s and make every effort to check off those Must-Do’s on our trip. One attraction that made the list from the time my kids were young is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and this mama was NOT plummeting down that elevator shaft.  So, when they were old enough I sent my brave kids on their own.

As noted in their Property Rules, Policies & Regulations, Walt Disney World Guests under the age of 7 must be accompanied by another Guest 14 years or older when boarding an attraction. So, if your prince or princess is of the brave age of 7 then they can ride unaccompanied. I hope this information is helpful and as your arrival date quickly approaches stay up to date with Walt Disney World’s procedures and guidelines by reading the Know Before You Go page. The Disney Parks Blog is a great place for Disney news and check out our Panel Extras for more vacation tips. We are excited to Welcome You Home and may your upcoming stay be filled with many magical and memorable moments.

    Have a Practically Perfect Day,

    Amy M.

Meet the Panelist: Amy, Virginia

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
