Hello Simon,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your great question to us about your upcoming holiday to
Walt Disney World Resort with your children.
I can completely relate to your quandary. When my daughters were young, their adventurous spirits sometimes won out over their regard for their parents' egos! They always wanted to ride “up front” without me. I applaud their confidence, even when it was sometimes at my pride’s expense. I’m sure your kiddos have very cool parents, so let’s see how we can keep your kids thinking so, too!
The good news is that many attractions allow
children over 7 years old to ride in a separate seat, as long as they are
accompanied on the attraction by a person age 14 years or older. Some attractions at Walt Disney World Resort have height or other restrictions to ensure Guest safety that might preclude this option, however. You can find these advisories listed on the
individual attraction pages on the Walt Disney World website or on the signage as you enter the attraction at the theme parks. Simon, I encourage you to review the attractions that your children may have their hearts set on riding to avoid disappointment. Of course, at each attraction, a Cast Member will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Simon, to capture some of these magical attraction moments, consider purchasing
Memory Maker so you can download all your
Disney PhotoPass Service photos, including photos and videos from attractions such as
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and
TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise®. Then you will have proof of how cool you are as a dad for
taking your kids on an amazing Walt Disney World Resort holiday!
I hope this information is helpful. If you have other questions or need some tips on making the most of your vacation, please write back and let us know!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
