Hi Julene,
Thanks for the great question! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Alright, let me be really honest with you...I'm a thirty-something mom with Annual Passes to the Walt Disney World Resort...and I paid to go
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) three times last year. It's that good! Here are my favorite parts:
*Seeing guests of all ages dressed up in creative and fun costumes. Many are not expensive or elaborate but very imaginative. One of my favorites from last year: a party of seven wearing white t-shirts with the days of the week on the back and 3-D shark hats. Can you guess what they were? Shark Week. It was great!
*Mickey's "Boo To You" Halloween Parade-one of the best parades the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, full of villains, spooks and characters dressed up for Halloween.
*Minimal crowds-this special event has only a limited number of tickets. What does this mean for you? Shorter lines and less waiting! I rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad three times in a row last year (in the dark, which is my favorite)!
*Trick-or-treating is really fun and you get TONS of candy! I think my family of four logged in about ten pounds from our visit last year. We bring drawstring backpacks to help carry around our loot. Even if you just hit a few hot spots (the areas around Splash Mountain and the trail between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are great high-density areas), you'll have a lot of sweet treats to enjoy all night long.
*And finally, my favorite...Happy HalloWishes, quite possibly the best fireworks display of the year!
Julene, if any of this sounds appealing to you, I would suggest attending the party. It's a lot of fun and I think you and your daughter might have a really good time.
Best HalloWishes,
Amy B.
