Okay, I am a PLANNER! I just read that ESPN & Big River Grille don't accept ADR? Travelling with DH, DS15 & DS13, and ESPN is going to be a must. Do you have any experience with dining here? What kind of waits, 08/16-08/30? Thanks for all the

    Hi Tricia,

Nothing wrong with being a planner. Actually you will find that all of us "moms" here on the panel are big planners too. As a matter of fact, a Disney World vacation is that much better when a little planning has taken place. That being said, you are correct that you can not make ADRs at the ESPN Club and the Big River Grille located at the Boardwalk Resort. Never fear though, there is hope of dining there.

The Boardwalk and Beach Club Resort area is our favorite place to stay at Disney World, so we have enjoyed many meals at both of these locations. Although we have encountered an occasional wait in the evenings, the lunch hour generally is not bad. If you plan on dining for an early lunch, you will most likely find little if any wait. These two locations tend to become more crowded as the evening approaches and the crowds increase on the Boardwalk area for the shows and nightclubs. They are both on a first come basis, but again the crowds tend to be moved through quickly and the wait has always been minimal. There are a number of shops and activities that you can enjoy while waiting for a table.

The exception to this is during football season or playoffs for sports like baseball, basketball and hockey. The ESPN Club is an extremely popular location to enjoy the big game, and on game day the crowds tend to line up quite early and stay for a long time. It is often hard to get a table on "game day". My suggestion on those days is to avoid the restaraunt unless you are also trying to enjoy the game.

Hope you have a great time!

P.S. The wings at the ESPN Club are delicious!
