Welcome to planDisney, Tiffany! We're glad you stopped by. As one of the country's most popular travel destinations, it's no surprise that Walt Disney World is a large part of so many people's lives; it truly is The Most Magical Place on Earth!
It seems only fitting to honor a loved one at a place that meant so much to them. Balloon releases have become an increasingly popular way to hold memorial services in recent decades, and it's a tradition that many find uplifting and comforting. Unfortunately, Florida state law prohibits releasing ten or more balloons filled with lighter-than-air gas within 24 hours (with a few exceptions). For some alternatives, try calling the
Disney Meetings & Events Team at (321) 939-7129.
I also have a few ideas for you, Tiffany:
*Ask for a celebration button at Guest Relations if you plan to visit the parks. They can personalize it for you, or for a small fee, you can have a Cast Member at the
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe do it in fancy calligraphy.
*Consider booking a private dining room at a nice restaurant on property. Hosting a dinner with friends and families to celebrate the life of someone you love is a tribute. One of my favorites is the wine room at
Citricos. You can call (407)-824-2347 or email WDW.Citricos@disney.com
*You could get a photo frame mat autographed by your loved one's favorite characters and then put their picture in it.
*Did you know there's a wishing well at
Magic Kingdom Park? Any coins tossed into the well will be donated to children's charities in the Orlando area, such as Give Kids the World, which has helped thousands of children with critical illnesses make "Wish" trips to Walt Disney World.
Tiffany, the planDisney Panel sends our love and best wishes. Please feel to write back anytime!
