Ok, been doing a lot of reading and everything I've read about AKL Kidani says its too far away from the Parks (ie Magic Kingdom)called today to try to get Bay Lake but they are out of rooms I'm guessing for the discount I'm using.Should I be worried?

    Hi Whitney,

I have stayed at Kidani Village. The rooms there are wonderful, with HUGE bathrooms. The animal viewing is spectacular. The pool is terrific and well maintained. The restaurant downstairs, Sanaa, is super tasty. In short, everything is great. Except yes, it is rather far from the Magic Kingdom.

Depending on where you're staying, it is often not necessary to rent a car for a WDW vacation. However, if you're staying at Kidani, I 100% recommend getting a rental car. If you have a car, you're not subject to waiting around for buses. If you control the travel schedule, then you can easily cut out 20 minutes of time spent getting to the Magic Kingdom each time you go there.

So in short, if you have access to a car, then Kidani is fine. If you're using Disney transportation, you may want to budget for a few cab rides to make your trips to the Magic Kingdom area go more quickly.

If you do want to get closer to the MK, (and it sounds like you're using DVC points), you may want to try the Wilderness Lodge as an alternative to Bay Lake Tower.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
