Is it OK to design your own mouse ears at home or is this considered copyright infringement? I want to make super special ears for my daughters 4th birthday but don't want to get into trouble!!

If you are making the mouse ears for your own personal/family use (not selling to others, nor using them for advertising), I am confident that you won't have any problems.  Many guests make their own t-shirt designs at home, often incorporating some Disney images, and never have any problems wearing these at the parks.  I think your ears would be treated the same, and they sound like a great idea! I'm sure you'll get lots of compliments in the parks!!
