Ok so we have 6 day park hoppers for our upcoming trip. Say we go to MK in the morning and want to hop to Epcot in the PM. Can we drive to the Boardwalk and park there in order to enter through World Showcase? Thanks for any advice/ tips!

Welcome back to planDisney, Kevin! I am so glad that you find us to be such a valuable resource for planning your Walt Disney World vacations!

I see that you are planning to be at WDW in February. This is probably my favorite time of year to go to Walt Disney World! The weather is perfect, the crowds are lower, and I find it to be so enjoyable.

You ask a very good question. Park hopping is something that is not for the feint of heart. It requires a little extra planning and knowledge of the theme parks. Heading to Magic Kingdom in the morning is a great plan. Don’t forget to stop by Sleepy Hollow for my most favorite Disney treat, the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich before 11am! And, an afternoon/evening at EPCOT is perfect. With so many food options, you can literally eat and drink your way around the world (I always start in Mexico).

To answer your question, no, you cannot drive from Magic Kingdom to Boardwalk to park for EPCOT. You do, however, have a few other options. When I plan to park hop, I almost always will pay for the preferred parking. Since I am an annual passholder, this costs me under $30 to park in the closest lot. That way, when I am ready to hop, the car is close. Plus, when you travel to the next park, your preferred parking applies there as well.

You could also jump on the monorail and take that all the way to EPCOT, by transferring at the TTC. This will let you out at the main EPCOT entrance, as will parking. If you truly want to enter through the International Gateway, you could take a bus from Magic Kingdom to Beach Club, and then walk the short distance to the entrance.

I hope this helps with planning your days of your February vacation! I know I’ll see you again here at planDisney!

    Happy Traveling,
    Tracy
