Oh no, my Samsung mobile phone is not compatible with My Disney Experience! It is probably too old. How will that limit my ability to get through the theme parks? Will I not have a map, ability to make dining reservations and such? I feel so old right now?

    Hi Kenneth!

Don’t worry! While accessing the My Disney Experience app can make things more convenient, there are still plenty of ways to navigate the parks and make the most of your visit without relying on the app. Plus, as Walt Disney once said, "That’s the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up." So, there’s no need to feel old—you're about to have a magical adventure! Let’s break down what you can still do and how to make sure you're not missing out on any magic!

    • Disney still provides physical maps at the entrances to all four theme parks. These maps show attractions, dining locations, restrooms, and showtimes. You can pick one up as soon as you enter the park, and it’ll be your handy guide throughout the day. Cast Members can also point you in the right direction if you need assistance. Like the maps, Disney offers Times Guides at the park entrances, which provide daily schedules for shows, parades, and character appearances. This will keep you in the loop on entertainment offerings and special events throughout the day.
    • You can still make dining reservations through the official Walt Disney World website on your phone’s browser or a computer. Just log into your account there, and you’ll have access to the same dining options and reservation system as the app. Once you’re at the parks or your resort, you can also stop by Guest Relations or the concierge desk for help with booking dining reservations.
    • If you're looking to purchase Lightning Lane Passes, Disney offers Guest Experience Teams stationed around the parks. These Cast Members can assist with booking your rides and making recommendations. Also, you can use the website on your smartphone to manage some features.
    • In the parks, you'll find wait time boards at various locations. These boards give real-time updates on wait times for popular attractions, so you can easily plan your next move. Cast Members are also great at offering tips and letting you know the best times to ride certain attractions.
    • While you won’t be able to use Mobile Ordering through the app, you can still order food directly at the counter at quick-service locations. Most locations are very efficient, so it won’t slow you down!
    • If you’re worried about keeping track of your park tickets, MagicBands are a great option for touchless entry, room access, and linking photos. Even if you don’t have a MagicBand, your physical park ticket can be scanned for entry, Lightning Lane, and PhotoPass services.
    • Always remember that Cast Members are your best resource! Disney Cast Members are incredibly helpful and will assist you with anything you need in the parks, from directions to making recommendations on dining or attractions.
Remember, Walt Disney himself said, "Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional." So, don’t feel old - Disney is for the young at heart! You’re in for a magical trip filled with memories and fun. You’ve got this!
