    We would like to see the official opening ceremony at the gates of the Magic Kingdom– how long before opening time do you recommend we arrive to get a good spot to see Mickey? Do any of the other parks have similar opening ceremonies? Thank you!!

    All of the four major parks have an opening ceremony, and they typically are at about 5-10 minutes before the regular opening time (not the Extra Magic Hours opening time).  On a busy day, to ensure a "good spot", I'd plan to be at the security bag check area about 30 minutes before the scheduled time for opening.  On very light days, 15-20 minutes before the park opens should be just fine.  For Animal Kingdom, I'd be there about ten minutes earlier than the times I mention above, because the park takes a little longer to get in (the entry area is narrower, so it tends to be a bit more crowded), you need to walk a little bit before you get to the area where they have the opening show, and the area to see the show is more narrow (you end up farther back, fairly quickly, if you don't arrive early enough).
