Ahoy there, Taylor,
I’m so happy to welcome you aboard planDisney! What a magical
Disney Cruise Line vacation you have in store on a
Disney Magic at Sea cruise out of
Australia.Disney Cruise Line does not offer drink packages in the way that you may think of them on other cruise lines, but there are several alternatives offered that are, in my opinion, a much better value and offer great options.
First,
Disney Cruise Line allows each Guest 21 years and older to bring up to two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750ml) or six beers (no larger than 12oz) onboard in carry-on luggage at the beginning of the voyage and each port-of-call. Just remember, when you board the ship on departure day, you will need to carry these items with you until your stateroom is ready, which could be a few hours.
Another great option if you enjoy a good pint, is the Refillable Beer Mug offering. You receive a 21 oz glass mug and then you can refill it for the cost of a 16 oz beer at any bar on the ship that serves draft beer. Don’t worry, you won’t have to carry the mug with you all over the ship. You can exchange it for a beer mug token which you can present the next time you are ready for a refill. You will still get to keep a mug as a souvenir! This package is available for purchase before the cruise. Simply navigate to
Onboard Gifts under Already Booked, and look for Beer Mug Package. You can also purchase it once on board.
If you prefer wine, the Wine Packages are also an amazing value. You select the number of bottles you would like for the length of your cruise and a bottle (or all your bottles, which you can then take back to your stateroom) will be delivered to you in the dining room. Again, navigate to Onboard Gifts to select this option before your cruise or once you board, check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for locations where to purchase a package.
Finally, among my favorite Disney Cruise Line offerings are the
Beverage Tastings. The mixologists in the lounges host these events and are incredibly knowledgeable in their profession. I’ve learned so much about the complexities of bourbon, tequila, wine and martinis aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship! I recommend you book these
in advance once your booking window opens since they are very popular.
Taylor, I hope this information is helpful and that you are on your way to planning a magical time at sea. If you have other questions, please sail back by and let us know!
Cheers to a magical cruise!
Shannon
