Welcome aboard, Naimah! From one Ohio mom to another, I'm glad to hear you're getting ready to set sail this fall on the beautiful
Disney Dream!
During your four night Disney Dream cruise, you're welcome to come and go from the ship as you please when you're in port, either in
Nassau or on Disney Cruise Line's private island,
Castaway Cay. In both locations, the ship docks right at the port so that guests can walk off the ship easily. Once the all clear is announced for guests to begin debarkation, simply head off the ship at your leisure and enjoy the island. If you'd like to get back onboard for a mid-afternoon nap for a little one, go ahead! Want a quick ride on the
AquaDuck before heading back off the ship again for lunch at Castaway Cay, go for it! The day is yours to spend as you please, so the ship is there and open for you to enjoy.
Each port day, you'll receive notice of the all aboard time, so pay attention to that to ensure you plan to be back onboard before that last call and you're all set, Naimah!
If you haven't already, don't forget to check out the awesome
Port Adventures offered by Disney in each port of call. My family and I really enjoy snorkeling in the
Snorkel Lagoon at Castaway Cay, so I highly recommend that if you get the chance.
Biking around the island is a fun way to spend an hour or so exploring as well. Both of those adventures can be pre-booked during your online check-in, but unlike other adventures, these two offer the chance to walk up and rent at the last minute on the island as well, so if you don't pre-book snorkeling or biking but feel up to it once you arrive, there is plenty of rental equipment for snorkeling and plenty of bikes, so head out and join in on the fun!
Happy planning!
