I have an odd question. My parents and I are going to Disney World in September but my friend is joining us for part of the trip. She wants to link with me in the MyDisneyExperience app but NOT my parents, whom I AM linked with. Can she link with just me?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Alex.

You're as welcome as can be! It's great to have you back here at planDisney. I imagine that you are daydreaming of sunny Florida and The Most Magical Place on Earth quite a bit these days. The cold may not bother Elsa, but gazing upon Cinderella Castle with a churro in hand and the sun basking down on you sounds way more exciting than the cold of a Massachusetts winter.

Your question's not odd at all, and I'm so glad you asked it. I am happy to report that yes, your friend can link with just you and not your parents. When your friend connects to you in My Disney Experience, it will not automatically connect her to your parents. She would have to accept invitations from your parents to be connected to them also, so she will be good to go.

In order to connect with your friend in My Disney Experience, you will want to send her an invitation to plan together. The easiest way to do this is through your My Disney Experience App. Go to your profile and select "Show My Linking Code." This will generate a unique QR linking code that your friend can simply scan to add you to their Family & Friends list so you can plan together. She will appear in your Family & Friends list, and you will appear in hers. It's that simple!

If you would rather add your friend from a browser, access your Family & Friends list in your My Disney Experience account. Scroll down to the bottom of your list and select "Add a Guest." You will see three options to add someone - through your connected Guests, from a Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation, or by entering their name and age. If you have any issues connecting to your friend, I suggest you call the friendly Cast Members at the My Disney Experience and MagicBands line at 407-939-4357 for further assistance.

Once you are connected to your friend, you can choose to share all your plans with her or only the plans you share together. You can also allow her to access your Disney PhotoPass photos if you would like, or you can choose not to share them with her.

Speaking of Disney PhotoPass photos, have you considered adding Memory Maker onto your vacation package? Since it will be your family's first trip, you will definitely want to be able to look back at all the snapshots of your trip and magical moments you had along the way. Memory Maker allows you unlimited downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos from your trip via your Disney PhotoPass Gallery in your My Disney Experience App or from a browser. You can even order a Disney PhotoPass Archive USB flash drive that will have all the photos from your trip loaded onto it when you return home from your magical adventure. It's the perfect souvenir!

Alex, I hope you have a wonderful trip with your family and with your friend. Enjoy making core memories to last a lifetime!

    See ya real soon,
    Alyssa
