Hi! In Oct '09 stayed at POFQ-loved it. Returning in Jan '11 and torn between POFQ and WL. Like to always try something new, have stayed at several others, is WL worth price difference? Bus trans-stops at other resorts before parks? TY!

Hi, Olivia!  We've always like to try new places when we go to Walt Disney World as well, and I can tell you without a doubt, my girls love Wilderness Lodge probably more than any other resort where we've stayed.  They like Animal Kingdom, the enjoyed Port Orleans French Quarter, but my eight year old told me that at Wilderness Lodge, she really felt like she was at Walt Disney World, but it had been moved to a whole new place!

The rustic feel here at the Lodge is warm and enticing; and you will find more space in your resort room here compared with Port Orleans French Quarter.  There are two sit down restaurants here - the phenomenal signature restaurant Artist Point; and the slapstick funny with good food Whispering Canyon.  Transportation to the theme parks is via boat (which you can get right out the back door of the Lodge) or bus, which runs pretty regularly.

Another bonus here is you can watch the Electric Water pageant off of the boat dock each night - which we used as a bedtime treat for our girls quite a few nights.  We would give them their baths and showers, dress them in a pair of pajamas, and take them to see the pageant.  Then it was off to bed with music and beautiful lights filling their heads!

For the price difference, you get a bit more room, a bit more conveniences in terms of transportation and amenities, and a whole lot of theming.  You can't go wrong with either of your two choices, but if you want to try something different, I highly recommend Wilderness Lodge.

    Enjoy your vacation!
