In Oct. we'll be spending 4 days at WDW with our daughter who will be 20 months. I think we want to spend 2 days at MK so I'm wondering which park would best to skip at her age? Also, should we take her to Mickeys Not-so-scary Halloween party?

    Hi Amy,

Let me answer your second question first. I LOVE Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. It is one of my favorite events of the Disney year. However, I hesitate to recommend it for toddlers, simply because of the party's hours. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at midnight. When my girls were 20 months old, 7:00 p.m. was bath and bed time. I might be able to push them to stay up a bit longer, but I would pay the price the next day with cranky kiddos. Of course your daughter may have a different disposition or schedule, but my fear is that you'll pay for the ticket and not be able to enjoy much of the party because you'll want to put your daughter to bed. The first time I was really successful with having my kids at an evening Magic Kingdom party was when they were about 7.

As for which park to skip - that's a tough question. I love all the parks, but if I had to choose for a toddler, I'd say skip Epcot. The Animal Kingdom has lots of appeal for little ones. They can spot African animals on the Safari or groove at the Lion King and Nemo shows. Similarly, Disney's Hollywood Studios offers the Disney Junior show as well as shows featuring songs from the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. These are usually big hits with young girls.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have more questions.
