Welcome aboard, Kammeron! Disney Cruise Line has so much to offer its guests, both onboard and in the ports of call. Many guests choose to book one of Disney's fabulous and exciting
Port Adventures so they can experience the culture and history, or just a fun adventurous outing, in the ports of call. I highly recommend booking at least one Port Adventure when you sail with Disney!
But, many guests will choose to forgo a Port Adventure, and either stay onboard the ship, or debark on their own to explore a bit in the port area before returning early to the ship to enjoy a less crowded atmosphere onboard. You'll be really happy to know that there are activities going on all day around the ship, whether it is in port or at sea. Of course, there are even more activities when the ship is sailing, since everyone is onboard. But, you'll still find plenty to do onboard when others are off exploring the ports. This includes the
Youth Clubs. The Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are both open while in port, except at Castaway Cay, since the Youth Counselors move all the fun to Scuttle's Cove, the Youth Club on
Disney's private island. But, in all other ports, yes, the kids can go hang out in the Club or Lab for some fun activities while the ship is in port. Parents can actually go ashore on their own if they'd like to let their kiddos stay in the clubs. You'd just need to let the counselors there know that you will be heading out. The kids are in great hands with the amazing counselors in the clubs, and are in for all sorts of great crafts, games and events in the clubs.
I hope that helps as you get ready to set sail with Disney, Kammeron! I'm sure you're in for one magical vacation!
