Jambo, Joe.
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by to chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. October may seem lightyears away, but your countdown will reach "zero" before you know it. I bet you can’t wait to partake in the EARidescent excitement of the 50th Anniversary Celebration!
I, too, am a super fan of
MagicBands. They're so convenient and easy to use for everything from linking
Disney PhotoPass photos to entering the theme parks and
charging purchases to your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room. They are the one trip essential I definitely won't leave home without! You’ll be happy to know there is a wide selection of MagicBands available for purchase at special pre-arrival prices for Disney Resort hotel Guests. To view what's currently available, go to "My MagicBands and Cards" in your
My Disney Experience account on a browser. You should see your Resort hotel reservation details listed on this page. Click "Get Started," then "Select" under your name to view the current assortment of MagicBands available. The selection changes frequently, so keep checking back if you don’t see one you like right away. There’s a good chance new designs will pop up at some point.
You can also
browse for MagicBands on shopDisney. They usually have a different selection than what's available for order through your My Disney Experience account, but they do not qualify for the special pre-arrival pricing. If you can wait until you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, many of the merchandise locations on property have MagicBands available for purchase. You can even design and personalize your own MagicBand at one of the D-Tech on Demand kiosks. These kiosks are located inside
Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs and Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. by Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom Park.
If you decide to purchase a MagicBand from shopDisney or when you arrive, you will need to
link it to your account. To do this, click the three lines in the bottom right corner of your
My Disney Experience mobile app and select "My Profile." Select "MagicBands & Cards" from the list of options, then choose the blue box that says "Link a MagicBand or Card." You can either scan the ID number from the back of the MagicBand or manually enter the ID number on the screen, then click "Submit." Choose which individual to assign it to from your Family & Friends list and confirm that everything is correct. It's that simple!
Did you know that MagicBands will be upgrading to
MagicBand+ later this year? I mean, how could MagicBands get any better than they already are, right? Not only will MagicBand+ have all of the same features of its predecessor, but it will have some exciting new features, like interacting with the nighttime spectaculars, as well. You could always wait a few months to see if MagicBand+ will make its debut in time for your trip.
I hope to see you here at planDisney again in the future, Joe. Enjoy your magical vacation!
Until next time,
Alyssa
