Welcome back to planDisney, Susan! Enchanting holiday extras like spending time with Santa and Mrs. Claus are truly some of the sweetest touches of the Christmas Season at the Disneyland Resort. I’m delighted to help you sort through the options for your upcoming visit.
At this time, the Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus is not listed as an available experience on the
Grand Californian Hotel webpage. It’s also not included on the
Disney Parks Blog’s roundup of character meet and greets for the season. While the Disneyland Resort occasionally surprises us with last-minute additions, all signs currently point to this particular offering not returning for the holiday season. I know that may not be the news you were hoping for, but you still have several wonderful festive opportunities to make your visit feel extra special.
If you’re hoping to enjoy seasonal dining with beloved characters,
Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian has some delightful options. Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch bring a cozy, heartwarming energy to the morning hours (think flannel-clad whimsy and cheerful holiday tunes). In the evenings, you’ll find Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast. It is a festive dinner featuring Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, and more in costumes inspired by the classic Dickens tale. This is a rare treat, and I already have this one booked myself because it’s not every day you get to enjoy a meal hosted by characters straight out of a timeless Christmas story.
If your heart is set on spending time with Santa himself, you still have several delightful choices. In Disneyland, you’ll find
Holiday Fun with Santa & Friends! at Fantasyland Theatre (a charming backdrop for unforgettable photos). Over at Disney California Adventure, Santa visits the
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, where you can meet him and also enjoy festive activities, games, and a fun present-spotting adventure tucked among the pines. And if you’re staying at or simply visiting the hotels, Santa also meets Guests at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and the Pixar Place Hotel.
While the exact tea experience you were hoping for may not be offered this year, Susan, I hope one of these other options brings a bit of extra joy to your holiday visit. If you have any more questions or would like tailor-made suggestions for your trip, please stop by planDisney again. We’re always happy to help you plan your Disneyland adventures.
Happy Holidays and may your visit be filled with warmth, wonder, and a dash of pixie dust,
David
