I noticed the shark reef experience at Typhoon Lagoon was closed a few years ago. What can you tell me about the reef diving experience at Epcot? Is it at all similar? Thanks, Sara

Hi, Sara! Thanks for submitting another awesome questions to the Disney Parks Mom Panel!

Fortunately, Epcot continues to offer quite a few encounters with aquatic animals that are sure to amaze any ocean lover!

Epcot Seas Adventure - Aqua Tour is a 2.5-hour experience that takes Guests behind the scenes of The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion. During this tour, you will have the opportunity to view the infrastructure that filters and maintains the 5.7 million gallon, man-made Caribbean Coral Reef that’s home to more than 65 species of marine life. In addition, Guests are also given approximately 30 minutes of above-water snorkeling time inside the massive enclosure!

For those that are SCUBA-certified, Epcot Seas Adventure - DiveQuest allows Guests to dive even deeper, literally! During the adventure, Guests are invited to tour the backstage area of the expansive fabricated ocean including an approximately 40-minute, underwater scuba experience!

Epcot Seas Adventure - Dolphins in Depth, stars one of the most intelligent, friendliest ocean dwellers, dolphins! Guests on this tour will be taken into the backstage area and converse with trainers that work with the bottlenose dolphins on a daily basis. Guests are then able to interact with dolphins in waist-deep for approximately 30-minutes!

Access to these tours must be purchased in addition to Epcot park tickets. It is also highly recommended that these tours be booked in advance due to their popularity. Reservations may be made by calling (407) WDW-TOUR.

Hopefully this provides some insight on the various aquatic offerings at Epcot!
