Hi Belinda, and welcome to planDisney! Your magical stay at the Disneyland Hotel is just around the corner, and I’m so excited for all the fun that awaits you.
There are
many memorable activities available to Disneyland Resort hotel Guests. The great thing is, even though you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel, you can still participate in certain activities at the other two Resort hotels. It certainly adds an extra sprinkle of pixie dust to any stay.
Belinda, did you know there are two guided walking tours that you can make a reservation for? In addition to the Disneyland Hotel tour, there is also a tour observing the architecture and design of the Grand Californian Hotel. Or, how does a drawing session sound at the Pixar Place Hotel? You can view the schedules for various activities
on the Disneyland website. The schedules for May should be available in the coming weeks. Looking at April, it seems like the Disneyland Hotel tour is at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the Grand Californian Hotel is at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Just keep in mind that this is subject to change.
Reservations for the hotel activities can be made by calling the Front Desk or stopping by in person. I called and spoke with a friendly Cast Member who shared that the guided walking tour sign-ups generally open about a week in advance, and you might even be able to join a tour on the day of if space is available. It’s worth checking with the Front Desk as soon as you arrive.
Belinda, make sure to add time to your plans for swimming! Each Disneyland Resort hotel has a unique pool area. As a note, unlike the activities mentioned above, generally Guests can only use the pools of the hotel in which they are staying at (outside of exceptions made for long-term closures). The
Disneyland Hotel pools are my favorite for water fun. There are mini water slides for small children, two larger Monorail-themed water slides, a Steamboat Willie splash pad, three separate pools, and a few whirlpools. During our last stay, my family spent hours at the pool.
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is another fun experience. There's nothing quite like a delicious buffet with appearances throughout the meal by our favorite Disney pals! My kids especially enjoyed swinging their napkins around with other Guests as Characters paraded through the restaurant to an upbeat song. The peanut butter jelly pizza is so tasty!
Belinda, I will wish on a star that you have a chance to do and see everything you dream of during your upcoming stay. Remember that the
Guest Services Desk is there to help you anytime during your stay. And between now and your arrival, please reach out to us at planDisney if you have other questions. We are always happy to help!
Your pal,
Kriss
