I noticed there are gates at the entrances to Disney Resort Hotels, specifically Coronado Springs. If I were to utilize Direct to Room service and check in online, what will I use to pass through the parking gate at the resort? MDE App, MagicBand, etc?

    Hello there Matthew!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by with this question today. I'm slowly but surely working my way through all the different Disney Resorts Collection Hotels at Walt Disney World Resort. There are so many options to suit any budget, taste, and location preference, but I think you've made a great choice as Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is my favorite Moderate Resort Hotel. As you mentioned, there is a security area at the entrance to each of the resorts, but not to worry! You'll be able to access the resort regardless of whether you utilize Direct-to-Room Service or choose to check-in at the front desk.

If you'll be arriving in your own vehicle or via a ride share service you'll be asked for your name and/or ID at the security gate. I always have my Resort Hotel confirmation information linked in the My Disney Experience Mobile App as well, since the app will generate a push notification as soon as my room is ready. Upon arrival, the guard will confirm your reservation and before you can say "bibbidi bobbidi boo" they will lift the gate for you to begin your resort adventure. You'll go through a similar process if you have dining reservations at another resort.

Speaking of dining, you'll have a lot of fantastic options to choose from during your stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. From coffee to cocktails and all the courses in between, there is something to please every palate! Barcelona Lounge in the Gran Destino Tower has an array of caffeinated beverages to help you kick start your day, while dinner at Toledo - Tapas, Steak & Seafood followed by a nightcap at the neighboring rooftop Dahlia Lounge will have you soaring off to Neverland satiated at the end of the evening. All of these options are beautifully themed, too. In fact, Toledo is so stunning it's on my short list of options for a special occasion dinner later this year.

Matthew, I'm excited for you to experience this beautiful resort for yourself next spring. If we can offer any additional help or suggestions for your trip please feel free to come back and let us know.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
