Hello there Mark,
Welcome to planDisney! Looks like you're planning some magical details for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation... that's very exciting! My family really loves using the
Disney Dining Plan, because it assures we'll be including some awesome dining experiences during our vacation.
I reached out to a Cast Member to confirm whether you can pay the difference when an entree at a table service location states it's not available on the dining plan. She explained that if an item is not included with the dining plan, the guest would pay the full price for that item, not the difference. Oftentimes, this is when an entree serving size is for two.
One thing I love about the Dining Plan is the flexibility. Did you know you can save a meal or snack credit and use it on a different day of your stay? For example, one evening my family may use a Quick Service credit for our evening meal ("saving" our Table Service credit)... and then the next we use two Table Service credits for a signature dining experience or something special like the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! Yes, you can use 2 Table Service credits for this amazing fun-for-all-ages dinner show. My son and I saw it just a couple of weeks ago... the food was delicious, the entertainment was so funny, and it made for a wonderful evening.
Since you plan to use the Disney Dining Plan, please be sure to book your
advance dining reservations 60 days prior to your arrival date! This will get you the best selection, and can easily be modified later if your plans change closer to your vacation dates.
I know you were hoping for a different answer, but I promise you the Disney Dining Plan will not disappoint! You'll have some amazing dining options during your Disney World trip.

See ya' real soon,
Tami
