Hi there, Debbie! I think it's smart to plan some pool time at your resort during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I can't think of a better way to recharge your "batteries," especially when traveling in the summer months.
Often touted as the most delightful pool on Walt Disney World Resort property,
Stormalong Bay at Disney's
Yacht and
Beach Club Resorts is a beautifully themed 3-acre swimming complex that includes a lazy river. A truly unique feature of this pool is its sandy-bottom zero entry that my son spent hours playing in. Conveniently enough, the Kids' Chicken Breast Nuggets from
Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar and Grill are served in a super useful plastic sand pail (I can attest that the Coconut Shrimp are mighty tasty, too- no pail included with this one though)!
A couple of months ago, Walt Disney World started taking reservations for
Cabana Rentals along Stormalong Bay. The Cabanas include amenities such as padded furniture, cast member pool attendants, towels, a lockable safe, a mounted TV with cable access, and a mini refrigerator stocked with soda and water. Sounds like a day at the pool fit for a princess!
The pricing will fluctuate depending on the season. Between March and October, the cost is $299 for a full day (nine hours), and $199 for a half day (four hours). Prices are always subject to change, so I'd suggest calling (407) 939-7529 if you'd like more information. There are only four Cabanas, and they will book up quickly in the summertime. If you have younger Mouseketeers that you need to keep a close eye on, I'd suggest the first Cabana since its location is next to the zero entry. The fourth Cabana has the most privacy, so this would be perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet.
I hope that diving into these details helps you make your decision, Debbie!
