I am not a Vacation Club Member and am staying at OKW in May. What do you suggest for a 2 bedroom villa room request that will get us closest to the Hospitality House and good for transportation? Also, are there rooms that have not been refurbished?

    chEARs Elizabeth!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think it’s great that you are taking advantage of Disney Vacation Club’s excellent Villa options. The “home-away-from-home” feel is one of the reasons that we chose to become Members. What other hotels say “Welcome Home!” when you pull up?

You are right; there’s an awful lot of "Pixie Dust” happening around the Walt Disney World Resort right now! I am convinced that Mickey Mouse is trying to make everything perfect for his Guests as we enjoy (amongst other things) the upcoming debuts of the Disney Skyliner, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Regardless of construction, you have picked an excellent place to stay! Disney’s Old Key West Resort is quintessential Southern comfort. The Villas are large and offer plenty of room, plenty of amenities (from full-sized kitchens to boat transportation to Disney Springs), and plenty of relaxation! Tinkerbell has made her way through quite a few of the rooms, but renovations are expected to continue through mid-year. No worries though, I stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort smack dab in the middle of construction, and wouldn’t have known it if we hadn’t been eating in a temporary site! The Magic is Real with how well Disney handles construction.

To be closest to the Hospitality House and bus transportation, it looks like you should request a room in buildings 11-14 and 62. Looking closer, it seems 63 and 64 are also quite close. Remember though; a request is just that. A request! If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. In the meantime, happy planning!
